The clergy and musicians sometimes fail to sit and talk;
Instead of seeking common ground we fuss and fume and squawk!
The worship wars are raging, and we don't know what to say;
Instead of having dialog, we just must have our way.
Our churches and the Kingdom's work are struggling to survive;
In spite of our shortcomings, though, the Spirit's still alive!
Our calling is a sacred one, and theirs is too, of course;
For all our talents and our gifts come from the selfsame Source.
So when we meet next Friday, words of challenge we will hear --
To see the bigger picture and to make our message clear.
We'll eat and drink and share some tales (we always have some fun!),
But then go home refreshed, renewed, before the evening's done.
We presently have 30 persons signed up to come, and it’s not too late to
add your name to the list if you reply by Friday of this week. The full
schedule for the evening is as follows:
5:30 – service of evensong sung by the Men and Boys Choir of St. John’s
(in the church)
6:00 – wine and cheese in the Green-Meldrim House, provided by our host
Brian J. Taylor
6:30 – catered meal, followed by the guest speaker, Dr. Brett Younger. The
menu for the meal features pork tenderloin; please notify Brian immediately
if anyone needs an alternate entrée.
Join us for the entire evening if you can.
