LENTEN MUSIC WORKSHOP
Monday, Jan. 25, 2010
7:00 PM

On Monday evening, January 25th, at 7 p.m., our chapter will meet at St.
Thomas Episcopal Church, Isle of Hope, to enjoy the following events:

Accessible voluntaries (or anthems) for the Lenten season, which begins
on February 17th followed by
Wine and cheese (with a complementary array of soft drinks)
                 AND
An "OOPS" sale, where we'll offer music duplicates to our colleagues at a
deeply
discounted price, with the proceeds to line the coffers of our AGO treasury.
I'm hoping that five or six of our colleagues will volunteer to perform (and to
provide information about) music for Lent that they have found very
accessible. Please e-mail me asap to let me know that you'd like to
participate!  Although we do not have a pipe organ at St. Thomas, it is a
very nice three-manual Rodgers that works beautifully in our
acoustically-friendly space.

Dr. Charles Tompkins
Workshop

Dr. Tompkins has entitled his workshop "Service Music from the Classical

Bach, Couperin, Boyce, Brahms, Alain, and others...works from historic
organ literature. The workshop will be held in the Christ Church choir
loft.....more instructions later about how to enter, and so forth...and will be
followed by a reception in the church undercroft, a social time to chat with
Dr. Tompkins and each other!
